WhatsApp Calls allow businesses to handle voice calls directly through the WhatsApp Cloud API. This article explains who can use WhatsApp Calls, and the requirements to enable them.
Who can use WhatsApp Calls
To use WhatsApp Calls, all the following requirements must be met.
- WhatsApp Cloud API: The phone number must be integrated by using WhatsApp Cloud API. If you are currently using an older WhatsApp integration, you will need to migrate to the Cloud API in order to use this feature. Read more here.
- Daily messaging limit of at least 2,000 messages: The business must have a messaging limit of at least 2000 business-initiated conversations in a rolling 24-hour period.
- Permitted country: Businesses with phone numbers registered in the following countries cannot handle outbound WhatsApp calls: United States, Canada, Egypt, Vietnam, and Nigeria. Inbound calls may still be supported.
Note: The country restriction applies to the business phone number’s country code. Customer phone numbers can be from any country where the WhatsApp Cloud API is available.
