This article explains how to connect your TikTok account to Callbell. Before getting started, make sure you have a TikTok Business account, as personal accounts cannot be connected to Callbell. If you still have a personal account, check out this guide to switch it to a business account.
TikTok Business Messaging API is not available for European Economic Area, Switzerland, the UK and the US markets. So messages from users in these countries will not be delivered. |
How to connect
- In Callbell, go to Settings and open the Channels section.
- Select TikTok and click Add channel.
- Click Connect your TikTok account.
- Log in with your TikTok Business account credentials and authorize the connection.
- Provide a name to the channel and save it.
Once connected, your TikTok channel will appear in the channels list and your team will start receiving TikTok direct messages in the Callbell inbox.
Messaging window
TikTok has a 48-hour messaging window. Your team can send and receive messages freely while the window is active. The window resets every time the customer sends a new message.
Once 48 hours have passed since the last message received from the customer, the window expires. At that point, your team can still send up to 3 messages to try to re-engage the conversation. If the customer does not reply, it will no longer be possible to send messages until they reach out again.
Supported message types
| Text | Image | Audio | Video | Document | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Inbound | Yes | Yes | No | Yes | Not supported |
| Outbound | Yes | Yes | No | No | Not supported |
Note: Some message type are restricted by TikTok's API and may not be available in all markets or scenarios. Image sending and receiving is only available when the sender and receiver are in markets that support image attachments in direct messages.
