For customers integrating WhatsApp through APIs, it is possible to send mass messages (broadcast) to a predefined list of contacts. Unlike broadcasts sent with the traditional WhatsApp Business app, broadcast messages sent from a WhatsApp Business API account will be delivered even to users who have not saved your company's number in their contacts.
Important: telephone numbers must contain the country code (for the UK, +44)
*this service incurs an additional cost; learn more from this article.
You can send a broadcast by using the Callbell broadcast module; to send you can follow the guidelines that you will find in Callbell, which can be resumed in:
1) Upload a CSV with a single column named Phone (example)
2) Select the template and upload a possible image or document*
3) Confirm and send the broadcast
Broadcast with multiple variables
It is also possible to send templates with multiple text variables that can be dynamically replaced with data from a CSV file. For example, you can use a message template like this: “Hello, {{1}}. Here is your order confirmation: Order number: {{2}}, Item name: {{3}}” and fill in the variable spaces customized for each contact.
Statistics and Reports
Once the broadcast is sent, no conversations will be generated in Callbell. Only when the user responds will the corresponding chat and response be generated on the platform. After about 2 hours, you will find in the module the statistics related to the campaign and the possibility to download a detailed report on the broadcast made.
The report for each campaign provides information on:
-
The delivered/undelivered message rate (success/failure rate): The failure rate includes contacts whose phone numbers are not active on WhatsApp or in case we exceed the daily template limit of our WhatsApp Business API account (250 if your Facebook Business Manager is unverified; 1000, 10000, or 100000 if your company is verified on Facebook Business Manager). Please contact our team to confirm your daily limit if you have any doubts.
- The read rate: It indicates how many contacts to whom we have sent a broadcast have opened our message. WhatsApp only provides this data for contacts who have enabled the blue tick for read receipts, and that is why a read rate of around 60% is typically an indicator of a successful campaign performance.
